I long for the freedom to express myself through my wardrobe at school in Santa Fe, especially through my choice of headwear. However, current school policy disallows us from wearing hats, beanies, or any other headwear within the school premises, restricting our individual expression and flair.

According to a study by California State University, allowing students to express their personality and individuality can stimulate creative thinking and foster a more accepting learning environment (California State University, 2018). Personal expression, including the choice of wearing headwear, should not be stifled – it should be celebrated and encouraged.

Let's remember, freedom of expression is not just a constitutional right, but also an integral part of personal and intellectual growth. Students in Santa Fe should not be barred from expressing themselves, especially not in their place of learning. We understand the importance of maintaining decorum, but it should not lead to suffocating regulations on personal choice.
