Lift the Ban on Registered Bully Breeds and Pitbulls in Nashville, AR

The Issue

I am a resident of Nashville, AR, with a deep personal connection to this issue. I know people who have pitbull service dogs and bully breed service dogs. These dogs are not vicious; it's how you raise them that matters. Just like any other dog, they learn only what you teach them. Any dog can be aggressive towards people or another animal but it’s all on how you raise them.

Our town banned these breeds due to an incident in Prescott Arkansas - an incident that didn't even occur here. Since then, Prescott has lifted their ban without any negative consequences. Yet our beloved pets remain outlawed in Nashville.

It's important to note that according to the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), controlled studies have not identified pit bulls as disproportionately dangerous compared to other breeds, and breed-specific legislation has not been shown to decrease bite rates or severity.

We believe it is time for change in our community; time for us to welcome back registered bully breeds and pitbulls into our homes and neighborhoods as long as they are secure, well taken care of and pose no threat to the community.

We urge the local authorities of Nashville, AR to reconsider this ban - let us keep our loyal companions by our side where they belong! Please sign this petition if you believe in fair treatment for all dog breeds.
