TROOP is such an underrated group and doesn’t get enough recognition. 

The group is from Pasadena, California. It's time we give them their flowers now. Although Reggie has gone on to Glory before being honored we still have Steve Russell, Allen McNeil, Rodney Benford and John Harreld still performing. Everybody doing the 90's tour but never mentioned TROOP. They don't even have their Star in Hollywood. They had the best choreography as well as awesome music which many fans still listen to today.  You know in the south at choir rehearsal we couldn’t have any food or candy in our mouth when singing. You sing from your diaphragm standing up but when a person can kneel down and still belt out a high note, you are a talented singer. That Damn Falsetto Allen! Listen, I saw two other singers do that, the late great Betty Wright and Keke Wyatt. I swear she has an extra lung but that’s another story. This is why I love live performances because you can really determine if artists can sing or not. Don’t believe me, go on YouTube look at Donnie Simpson Video Soul on BET or  Arsenio Hall clip,  and see for yourself how TROOP defeated gravity with that mad lean. Music is great for the soul and lifts up your spirits. When I am feeling discouraged, or defeated raising a child who is developmentally delayed you don’t know and therapists are not sure if my daughter will ever talk. It gets me down sometimes, but when I listen to TROOP their song  gives me strength to carry on throughout the day. They have had three number-one singles and ten top-ten singles on the Billboard R&B Singles chart. They have also completed five albums, which include three certified gold and one certified platinum album. Joyce Irby and Chuckii Booker wrote 2 of their popular songs. "Mamacita, Spread my wings, I Will Always Love You, All I do is think of you, Still in Love, My heart, Attitude, I’m Not Soupped, Sweet November, Whatever it takes, The Way I Parlay, Audacity, Poohnany, Over the Moon, I Love Only You, Don't Worry Your Mind, Deepa and Blowin' my mind. Steve is a beast at songwriting and producing, he has a new song that was just dropped in February called,” So Damn Stupid” and from their short film Five of a Kind a beautiful song, “It Can be Done”. Rodney has a new single, “Ride Wit Me.”  and Jon Jon has a solo project out as well. Allen has  new music out on digital download and Jon Jon has a solo project out also.
