I am a parent whose children have been unfairly trapped in the system, longing for a family reunion. This isn't just my story, it’s an unjust reality faced by numerous families nationwide. Thousands of children are placed into the foster care system—about 443,000 on any given day in the US (source: AFCARS Report, 2019). Too many of them are removed from their homes not because of their parents' unwillingness to provide a loving environment but due to systemic challenges and biases.

For the emotional wellbeing of our children and the sanctity of families, we demand a review and overhaul of this system. Swift, fair processes for family reunifications should be implemented. Every child deserves a loving family, and every parent deserving of their children should not be denied this innate right.
