Merewether High School has recently tightened restrictions upon what you can wear on certain days, with students being given after-school detention for things like incorrectly coloured socks and sports uniform on the wrong days. Teachers are being paid to walk around from classroom to classroom, inspecting students clothes and feet, therefore interrupting our concentration.

 The school community believes these rules are too harsh and need to be liberalised. The students wish to be allowed to wear whatever colour socks we want, and sports uniform on every day. It is not a big ask and will save teachers from having to inspect students’ clothes. Please sign this petition  so we may wear more comfortable clothes at school without getting punished for it.
