The Issue
- Trudeau and Freeland are working towards bringing Universal Basic Income into Canada.
The massive taxes needed to finance the scheme would knock the legs out from under the economy. There would be fewer jobs; incomes for most people would stagnate or decline.
Estimated costs of such a program in Canada range from $15 to $90 billion. Guess who pays for this via their taxes? Canadians do!
Guaranteed basic income is socialism via the backdoor and the ones it would trap are the very ones it purports to help. If the federal government were to continue this policy it could disrupt recovery for years to come. Instead you are trapped and reliant upon government forever, which is where it likes you to be. Universal Income is a wolf in sheep’s clothing!
Let’s also not forget the Trudeau government is set to add another Carbon tax despite global pandemic.
With all the debt the Trudeau govt has taken on during this Pandemic, with the threat of possibly another, Canadians can not afford these already added on taxes let alone the taxes a Universal Income would bring!
