Dear friends of Sea-Eye,
 
the SEA-EYE 4 has departed for the field!

We are urgently needed there. This year already, more than 600 people have died while fleeing in search of a life in safety. We can no longer help them and there is nothing we can do for their families to take away the pain of losing their loved ones. The EU has taken these deaths into account in their policies and made sure that the so-called Libyan coast guard in 2021 already towed back more than 4,500 people to the internment camps of the civil war country.

The civil society that backs Sea-Eye and its partners has long condemned this policy as cruel and in violation of human rights and has decided to take action. The SEA-EYE 4 is Sea-Eye's way of confronting the dying on the world's deadliest escape route and will save as many people as possible from drowning or being repatriated to Libyan internment camps.
