LGBTQ+ in our Schools
The Issue
The LGBTQ+ youth needs to be represented more at school. By making LGBTQ+ history and issues part of our nation wide curriculum, it will teach students about sexual orientation and gender identity and will allow them to explore their own. Students will also grow into more accepting and kind individuals. LGBTQ+ students can have a safe space in their schools and be able to talk to their teacher and each other about the problems they face. Students who don’t feel safe at home can feel safe and accepted at school. This will benefit the students and teachers alike and each will learn from new experiences.
