Subject: San Lorenzo Ruiz Mass at St. Patrick’s

WE, the devotees, volunteers, and core group, in the First Filipino Martyr Saint, Inc., (FFMSI), do hereby respectfully manifest our open opinion and real concerns, regarding the approved mass at the Cathedral for September 17, 2023 and the denied application of FFMSI for September 24th, this current year.

Premises:

a)     We grant that there is good faith on either side in reserving the date by

         Fr. Erno Diaz and of scheduling it by Fr. Enrique Salvo; both

         are intent in promoting proper devotion to the Saint.

b)     Malice may be construed on the part of Fr. Diaz, who is fully

          aware of the traditional San Lorenzo Ruiz Mass being con-

        ducted, under Fr. Joseph Marabe through uninterrupted 16 years,

         but Fr. Diaz is now organizing same celebration for the same saint, in                   the same Church, on the same month.

c)     Lack of verification and due consultation can be attributed

        to Fr. Salvo in his dual confirmation-and-rejection of the subject 

        matter, which caused confusion and division among the faithful.

NOW, therefore, we earnestly urge both Fr. Diaz and Fr. Salvo to provide a veritable solution to this impasse, if they are serious in promoting unity, as avoiding further animosity, within the so-called America’s Parish Church. Saving face is not the issue here, but, seeking the saving grace of our God and Savior - for one and all.
