Let ZiBBZ perform as the opening act of Eurovision Song Contest 2025

Let ZiBBZ perform as the opening act of Eurovision Song Contest 2025
The Issue
Eurovision Song Contest 2024 was plagued by controversies and a toxic atmosphere. One of the controversies was the Israeli participation during the Gaza War, which heated the debate and caused polarisation within the contest. Bullying and hate at the venue, backstage and online towards the competing artists and the contest organisers have been rampant, and it's tearing the contest apart, a complete antithesis to its original meaning of uniting the nations of Europe and its neighbouring area through music. Nowadays, it's too easy to bully someone anonymously online and get away with it. Even today, the organisers and participating artists get a lot of hate online. Even the winner of Eurovision 2024, Nemo from Switzerland, said:
"I broke the code and I broke the trophy, the trophy can be fixed, maybe Eurovision needs a little fixing too, every now and then."
In Eurovision 2018, ZiBBZ represented Switzerland with an anti-bullying anthem called "Stones". The message of the song is:
"Bullying stops people from dreaming, from being their true selves, and from really living life. It happens in the school playground, on the internet, and of course putting yourself down is also a form of bullying."
Unfortunately, Switzerland failed to qualify for the Grand Final in 2018 and the important message against bullying couldn’t get much attention.
As home of ZiBBZ, Switzerland, is hosting Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel, we have a perfect shot at giving ZiBBZ a second chance to shine and perform their song "Stones" as the opening act of the 1st Semi-Final, to help recuperate from past year’s tarnished image and send a message that the Eurovision Song Contest and EBU stand against bullying, hate speech and any other forms of harassment. With this act, we could restore the original spirit of unity, love and openness of Eurovision.
This message is also important these days as the amount of online hate speech has skyrocketed and social media corporations are loosening their moderation and allowing discriminatory speech online. Hate politics and radicalism are on the rise.
Eurovision needs a little fixing, every now and then. Let’s fix it with a signature! ❤️🩹
