Are you a student in the WLMS beforecare or aftercare program? Then you know what the strict rules are when it comes to using cell phones. Every student in beforecare and aftercare is affected by this, and we are done with not being able to use our phones. People can socialize through phones in many ways, and we should not be forced to only socialize in ways that the school deems acceptable. Some people do not have a lot of friends in the program, but if they could use their phones, they would be able to socialize with their friends who are not there. Also, if you are in the Gameroom before or after school program, you know that you can play video games on the TVs. It does not make sense how you can play video games that some people are not even interested in, but cannot use phones. Overall, WLMS students should be able to use phones in the beforecare and aftercare programs because it does not prevent socialization and may benefit students' social skills.

If this changes, we will be happier students and have more fun in the programs. Our phones will also help us in emergencies when we need to text our parents about something urgent or call 911. If this changes, we will be happier and more secure students. But, if this stays the same, the students with personal emergencies will have no way to get help quickly. The people who don't like the video games being played will have to stay bored. The people who don't have friends in the program will have to keep talking to no one. 

We need to change this policy to improve these programs for the students in them. We need your help to change this policy now. Sign this petition to make a great change.
