Let students express themselves freely at school; Long, dyed hair, piercings, and tattoos

Let students express themselves freely at school; Long, dyed hair, piercings, and tattoos
The Issue
Every day, hundreds of students in the Philippines suffer from lack of self-confidence and self-esteem. Why? Because of school policies that seem pointless and irrational.
According to most schools in the Philippines, they implement these rules for two main reasons: To look neat and to be disciplined.
First of all, you can look neat while still having long hair. Tie it back and into a ponytail. You can hide tattoos with clothing. You can remove piercings. Also, nobody should be able to tell someone what he can or can't look like. It is their choice.
Secondly, your looks have completely nothing to do with your discipline. There are people who look really nice, but sometimes, they're the ones who're up to no good. There are students who do very well in their studies, but they don't look like it.
All this means your looks don't define who you are as a person. It doesn't affect our studying as well as our discipline. So, we should let them be happy with their appearance. If we force them to look like something they're not used to, then their confidence and self-esteem will drop. This might cause depression which would then lead them to not do good in studying. If schools want students to do their best, then they should at least let them be themselves.
So join me, fellow students. Sign this petition so we could have even just a small piece of freedom. Thank you :)
