Let's get Shane Goldsby (guy who murdered his sisters rapist) out of the Washington prison
The Issue
Justice for Shane Goldsby
Shane Goldsby never wanted to be a killer. He was a man shaped by trauma, struggling to survive a world that failed him. But the justice system dealt him an unimaginable cruelty—placing him in a prison cell with Robert Munger, the convicted child predator who had raped his younger sister and many other little boys and girls.
Shane pleaded to be moved, knowing the unbearable weight of this situation. His pleas were ignored. When he finally snapped, it was not premeditated murder—it was an act of a man pushed beyond his breaking point, forced to share space with the very person who had destroyed his family.
For this, Shane was sentenced to 24 years in prison—longer than many child predators serve for their horrific crimes. How is this justice? How can the system show more mercy to abusers than to a man who acted out of unbearable grief and rage?
Governor Jay Inslee has the power to grant clemency. Shane Goldsby is not a cold-blooded killer—he is a man who sought justice when the system failed him. His sentencing is not just unfair; it is an indictment of a system that punishes the broken while protecting the guilty.
Governor Inslee, show compassion. Reduce Shane’s sentence and recognize the injustice of this case. True justice is not about vengeance—it is about fairness, understanding, and acknowledging the failures that led to this tragedy.
Imagine if it were your little brother/sister who Robert Munger tortured and raped, wouldn't you be thankful that somebody rid the man who would go on to repeat the same offence once out of prison? Remember Robert Munger was proud of his crimes bragging to Shane in explicit detail EXACTLY what he had done to his little sister. Anyone would have lost it, and I'm just surprised that Shane Goldsby didn't purposefully try to kill Robert, Robert was just too old to survive a beating.
