Hmp Rochester, in Medway… is the most vile, racist and uncaring prison. Every prison has a duty of care to care for all prisoners. But from having a partner in that facility I can officially say that the prison officers do not provide that care. Recently my boyfriend got attacked which lead him to going to hospital with facial injuries. And has affected his well-being and mental health. I have cried out for help to and from the prison staff but I ain’t getting no where. No one deserves to be treated less than a human and in that prison they get treated like animals. They dehumanise all inmates and expect them to be okay with that. When the prisoners get treated so bad to a way they feel like they need to defend themselves they are the ones who gets punished! Let’s get this prison shut down! The prisoners are threatened by staff , staff allow attacks to happen and then punishing the prisoners when ensuring their own safety. There are problems with ensuring inmates receive all medication. 
as a regular visitor to this prison I find that the prison officers also do not provide enough reassurance to us and we get treated like a piece of dirt under a shoe. Let’s get this prison shut down and ensure that all inmates are safe and their mental health is strong.
