Let's finally ban the sale of Bradford Pear trees in the state of Georgia

Let's finally ban the sale of Bradford Pear trees in the state of Georgia
The Issue
While South Carolina (effective 2024) and Ohio (effective 2023) have banned the sale of the highly invasive Bradford Pear tree, the state of Georgia has not. This petition requests that the state of Georgia pass legislation to ban the sale of these trees in order to protect our native ecosystems and natural landscapes.
Bradford Pears are extremely invasive and easily produce suckers that allow them to spread across the state. This once-popular tree for residential landscaping has become an uncontrollable menace to our region's native fauna. Bradford Pears are very successful at taking over protected areas and choking out our native habitats.
Please join us in asking the state of Georgia to join South Carolina and Ohio by banning the sale of these problematic trees.
