Let’s do something about speeding in Noctorum!

Let’s do something about speeding in Noctorum!

The Issue

The community of Noctorum has been reporting numerous incidents of speeding and reckless driving, with offenders consistently clocking speeds upwards of 50mph in designated 20mph zones. This isn't just occurring anywhere – it's happening near schools, where our children are meant to feel secure, and in residential areas that should be safe havens for families and pedestrians. Residents and volunteers have reported to the police and the council, only to be ignored repeatedly.

Wethersfield, West Way and Vyner Road are of particular concern for speeding cars, with additional reports of bikes and e-scooters driving recklessly along Noctorum Way.

Statistics show that a pedestrian hit by a car at 50mph is significantly more likely to suffer fatal injuries than at 20mph. The safety risk to our community, especially our vulnerable young children and elderly residents, is too high to ignore.

By signing this petition, we can collectively convey our concern and demand action from our local authorities, who have consistently made unkept promises about dealing with this issue, or fobbed us off saying it’s not actually an issue. We hope that the speed limit will then be enforced and therefore deter drivers.

Let's come together to preserve the safety and quality of life in our community. Your signature can make a difference – please sign this petition today and stand with us for safer streets!
