As a concerned parent of two children playing for the Pickering Soccer Club, I have personally witnessed the poor state of the parking lot at Kinsmen Park and Sandy Beach Road from Bayly to the lot. The numerous potholes and the absence of clearly marked parking areas is a safety hazard and a gross inefficiency. Instances of haphazard parking leading to blocked cars, and even triple parking, are frequent and concerning. 

Our beloved Kinsmen Park hosts sporting events that attract many visitors. Unfortunately, the current state of the parking facilities gives a poor impression of our beautiful city of Pickering. It is imperative for the safety of our children and the reputation of our city that the parking lot and the connecting road be refurbished.

According to the Canada Safety Council, poor road conditions contribute to a significant number of accidents in the country. Refinishing the parking lot and the road would not only enhance the experience for park visitors but also greatly improve the safety for our community. 

Let's call upon the City of Pickering to take urgent action to rectify this issue. Adding clear markings to the parking spaces would increase parking efficiency, and resurfacing the area would reduce the risk of accidents from the potholes.
