Let’s build a statue of Dr House. The disabled have been ignored too long
Let’s build a statue of Dr House. The disabled have been ignored too long
The Issue
Dr. Gregory House is one of the most iconic TV characters of all time. Not only is he immensely popular, but he also represents an important demographic in society, the disabled. According to IMDb, the TV series "House" aired between 2004 and 2012, and achieved an average rating of 8.7/10 stars across all 8 seasons. Furthermore, the show has been ranked #7 of the best rated TV shows of all time, and was nominated for an impressive 38 awards from the 2005 to 2013 Emmy Awards.
Building a statue of Dr. House in the Princeton New Jersey area, where the show takes place, can create a cultural attraction and a selection for the local economy. Not only does it cast a positive light on the disabled community, but it also does increase the popularity of the show even further. Furthermore, it could become a great tourist attraction and serve as a reminder to many of the positive impacts the show had during its eight season run. Additionally, by utilizing various mediums such as 3D Printing, specialized materials, and a well thought out design, a statue of Dr. House could become an ever-lasting symbol of his inspirational and iconic character. Doing so would draw more people to Princeton and inject tourism money into the local economy.
We, the undersigned, call on the State of New Jersey and the local Princeton area government to prioritize building a statue of the beloved and iconic Dr. House. Dr. House is not only highly popular and inspirational, but a representation of people of the disabled community in our society. Building a statue can create a cultural attraction and bring more tourism money into the local economy. With the support of the public, this project can become a reality and bring further exposure, recognition, and respect to the disabled community. Therefore, we ask that the state of New Jersey and the local government support this project and recognize that the statue of Dr. House is an important part of our culture.
