Let’s bring back the Argosy ‘Senior Uniform Privilege.’
Why this petition matters
I’m a senior this year at ACCHS. The class of 23’ is only the third senior class Argosy has had. In the previous two senior classes, admin granted us a privilege as seniors to not have to wear a uniform, as a reward for us making it this far. School gets really difficult, especially considering ACCHS is a charter school. We were promised that this privilege would not be taken away from us, and yet it has. The class of 23’ hasn’t done anything wrong to be penalized. We deserve to be differentiated from the lower classes as we are graduating next year and worked really hard to get to where we are today.
Scholars at Argosy are required to take part in BCC (college) classes and earn college credits from said classes. So, students don’t just take part in regular class work, we’re also highschool students taking part in college courses. We work way too hard to have privileges taken away from us. We shouldn’t be treated the same way the younger classes are.
Seniors at Argosy should be able to express themselves the way we want to, without having to be punished or disciplined. Time and time again Argosy has promised something and taken it away. School uniforms are way too expensive to be buying for the last year of school before going off to college where you can wear whatever you want(nothing is listed below $20 and not every family has that kind of money). We should be saving money for college rather than spending it on the awful school uniforms.
I feel that multiple things were promised to the class of 2023, such as being able to keep our phones, that was revoked very quickly as well. We were also promised as Juniors that we would get more opportunities to view colleges and we barely got any.
We can work together to see a change and get our senior class the recognition they deserve. We deserve a lot more than Argosy has given to us.
It seems as though money is their goal rather than their students happiness.
Please consider signing the petition to give us our privilege back.
