I hate balloons and swings, not because they've actively done me harm (except for the one time a kid fully kicked me when I was 11), but because it makes me nauseous. Watching someone shake a balloon or a swing wildly swinging on its own with no one on it makes me feel so sick. I can already feel the wave of nausea hitting me as I recount my story. I have actively tried to explain this to my little cousins at their birthday parties to try and get them to stop shaking their balloons. I've approached friends, family, and strangers pleading my case. Alas... they can't seem to listen to reason! 

There's a lot at stake here. I am a woman of color who already experienced life harder than the average person and my experiences need to be heard. I'm sure there are others out there and if you too feel like balloons and swings are only a nuisance please join me in my fight to make the world a better place for me! 

Other Reasons To Join The Cause:
