Let's Address the Auburn Housing Crisis

The Issue

Auburn’s housing situation is a mess for off-campus and on-campus students. Rent prices keep climbing, decent off-campus spots are way too expensive, and the on-campus housing options aren’t much better. I lived in The Hill last year, and it was rough. Old buildings, cramped rooms, and not nearly enough for the number of students trying to get in. This campaign is about bringing attention to how broken the housing system is and putting pressure on the university, city officials, and local landlords to do something about it. I want to show how this isn’t just inconvenient, and impacts students’ mental health, academic performance, and overall quality of life. By combining student voices with clear stats on housing shortages, rising rent, and overcrowding, I aim to boost change. The primary audience includes students, parents, university administrators, and city officials who can make changes. The goal is getting people talking and pushing for better options, more funding, and real housing reform.
