Kids across America are hating math more and more because of a website called Zearn. Zearn uses a strategy other companies have banned called the "One Shot and Restart" method to try and teach kids. But after kids lose that one shot, they have to restart on a harder question without enough explanation, which for many kids, can be so infuriating, they make conclusions about the overall subject and cause them to  dislike learning about any sort of math. In conclusion, Zearn is harming our children and should NOT be a required activity in schools.

Student -Hazel- says quote:

"I, myself, hate Zearn because it does not help with math at all. I'm having trouble focusing on stuff due to Zearn pressuring them into getting it right, and if they get it wrong on the Tower of Power, they have to restart and do an entirely different equation, causing them to feel tormented because they are being forced into something they don't like. Overall, don't use Zearn at all, and schools shouldn't use it either. I don't even like math anymore."

Another student -Sophia- says quote:

"Doing Zearn is like talking to someone who doesn't speak your language, and when you say something wrong, the interpreter makes you restart the entire conversation over, but doesn't tell you what you said wrong. It is so infuriating and annoying, and I hate that I have to do Zearn for school. No I don't even like math class because we have to do Zearn 2/5 days. I hate Zearn, and I can't wait for it to be gone."

It goes to show how kids are affected by the website and many others are starting to hate math even more. If we can get this petition to 10,000 supporters, then we will take this petition to multiple school district board meetings to try our very hardest to make Zearn an optional resource.
