In recent years, the Academy Awards have sought to generate buzz with controversy.  This year, they have even gone so far as to have attendees assault each other on stage.

If the Academy is going to go this far for the sake of publicity, then we, as an audience, deserve a better host for the event.  We deserve a host who is used to dealing with the kind of foolishness that we expect from Oscar award winners now.  If we are going to give multiple standing ovations, and praise, to bullies who physically attack people on stage, then we need somebody who is used to presenting this kind of studio audience to America as acceptable.

Jerry Springer is uniquely qualified for this job.  He has spent nearly 30 years presenting people fighting on stage for studio audiences full of people who approve of, and celebrate violence, as a way to solve their problems.  He is truly the best person for the job of hosting the next Academy Awards ceremony, in 2023.
