Let Frank Sinatra Tribute Entertainer Rich B Sing At Sinatra Bar and Grill in Nashville
The Issue
SO YOURE JUST SOME UGLY OLD DUDE WHO TRIES TO SING?
NO!!
HOW DARE YOU!
I AM NOT THAT OLD!
Not sure if I've told the whole story as to what it is I do. Or why it is I do what I do. And for some of the newcomers; they may not know how I differ from other singers. So I thought instead of boring you with another historical sinatra post youre not gonna read, I would tell you what sets me apart.
Frank Sinatra said in an interview with Walter Cronkite years ago when Walter asked him how he wished to be remembered, Frank said, "Well I'd like to be remembered as someone who sings really good songs, in a very unique way. .And I wish someone would actually learn how to do this so that way this music doesn't die."
I DoorDash for a living. So I've got a lot of time on my hands to figure out how Frank Sinatra sang these songs so that way the music doesn't die. Between playing trombone and my years growing up and singing this music off and on, I've kind of learned how to sing it. I'm not a natural singer, like my wife is, or the way my daughter is. They can take basically any song sing it on key rather, if it's in their range, and everything sounds fine.
I differ in that I sing JUST these songs in a very specific manner, just the way Sinatra did, and just these specific songs.
Although I do sing this in a karaoke styling. And I use karaoke equipment.
This is not karaoke.
In order for a song to be deemed karaoke, you have to change the keys and change the instrumentation . Which is why if you've ever gone to sing karaoke, it's kind of weird the 1st time and when you try to sing it based on what you've heard on the radio it sounds different in your ear. That's because the key of the song is different and the instrumentation is different.
I found a way to circumvent this, in that I have found an algorithm that will remove the vocal from any song. So that way these songs that you hear, when I sing them, are the actual songs the way Frank Sinatra sang them when he sang them with his backup bands.
So if he sang them with Count Basie, it sounds exactly like the Count Basie band in the background. If he sang him with his LA backup band. they sound exactly like that band. They're also the same keys he sang them in so they sound as familiar to the ear as would the actual Frank Sinatra album.
So unless you hear another tribute artist sing these songs with an actual backing band, hearing me perfomr them is as close as you're going to get to the real thing, as possible as far as the musicianship of it is concerned.
That's the how I do it.
The WHY I do it is because I don't want this music to die. I feel like classic rock indie rock and Indie acoustic rock have all had more than their 15 minutes of fame.
I feel as if I'm one of the very few people in an amateur way who are trying to keep this music alive and help it to find new ears and a new audience. Or help the old audience enjoy it even more.
I like singing for the older folks because they lived this music the 1st time. They have the memories of it. They have the magic of it. They remember it when they 1st heard it. I love the smile and the looks on their faces when they hear it again close to the way they heard it originally, and I can see those memories Flood their minds and I can see the result of those memories in their eyes. The sparkle rerurns.
It brings me really great joy. This music is a part of the American conscious and the American collective. It's more than just jazz. It has feeling, pathos, longing excitement and joy. It has a sense of real life and verve to it that you don't find in acoustic indie rock.
These songs are written by brilliant arrangers and composers who have written so many songs over the years that we deem as American classics. With the death of radio you can't find any of this music anywhere else. So it comes down to liveperformances and live performers to keep this music going and this music alive. You come away from listening to it feeling energized, happier feeling more feelings than in any of today's pop music. These are songs you can hum along to, recall the words too, and the emotions that accompany them.
There's actually a resurgence of Frank Sinatra in this country. There's the new Sinatra Bar and Lounge Nashville, TN
I would love to sing his music there. I haven't achieved a ton in my.life, but this would be my crowning achievement of this hobby, if they'd allow me to sing his music there Go visit it.. There's also a new Sinatra musical opening in London, which is going to eventually make its way to the United States. I'm hoping that this resurgence will help bring about a resurgence in the music.
This is why I say at the beginnings and endings of all of my live shows, and we'll continue to say that it here; that if you know of anyone who owns a facility a restaurant, if you go to a facility or a restaurant on a regular basis, please take a minute and talk to the owner, and tell them that you wanna hear this kind of music. Tell them that this type of music is important to you and still has a place in society, and that you'd like me to perform there. Give them my info.
Unless of course you wanna hear the Jonas Brothers played by a 20 something on a bad guitar everywhere you eat out for the next 20 years.
But I would love to play here and I don't know how to get their attention. I've sung at a lot of places in my area of Myerstown PA, but I'd love it if I could get Icon Entertainment Groups attention to let me perform at their facility.
Please check me out and tell them that I respect Mr Sinatra, and would do him proud.
Also please check out my music on my Sinatra Tribute YouTube Channel.
I'd pay my own way to attend even and sing for free if they didn't want to pay. I'm just trying to get their attention
