Let Candace Owen’s speak: Defend Free Speech In Australia

Let Candace Owen’s speak: Defend Free Speech In Australia
The issue
In a free and democratic nation, ideas should be met with discussion — not denial.
Recently, American commentator Candace Owens was reportedly denied entry into Australia, despite planning a series of speaking events on life, motherhood, culture, and race — not political campaigning or hate speech.
Whether or not we agree with every word she says, freedom of expression is a cornerstone of democracy. Australia has always valued robust debate and the right to hear diverse perspectives. Silencing speakers because their views are unpopular sets a dangerous precedent that threatens us all.
By denying entry to Owens, our government risks sending a message that only certain viewpoints are welcome in Australia — a message that undermines open dialogue, critical thinking, and the very freedoms generations have fought to protect.
We, the undersigned, call on the Australian Government and the Department of Home Affairs to:
Reconsider Candace Owens’ visa denial and allow her to speak in Australia;
Uphold Australia’s commitment to free speech and open dialogue; and
Ensure that future visa decisions are made fairly, without political bias or discrimination based on opinion.
Let’s protect the principles that make Australia a free, open, and democratic society — one that welcomes discussion, not censorship.
✍️ Sign this petition if you believe in open dialogue and freedom of speech for all — regardless of whether you agree or disagree.
