Petition updateLet Bob keep his dog. Bob (87) lived in a care home with his close companion DarkieSTOP ANYMORE BOB AND DARKIE STORIES!. Please Help us change the law

Two weeks on and both Bob and Darkie are settling in to their new bungalow.
Moving out of Burnfoot Hall is a relief, though by no means a victory.
Mead Medical Services Ltd continue to pursue their aims, with reports that 6 of the 12 Tenants at the Home (including Bob) have vacated within recent weeks. We are unable to confirm this, but it raises real concerns for the well-being of the 6 remaining Tenants.
There is no way of knowing whether this policy is limited to Burnfoot Hall, or applies equally across the other 5 residential homes which Mead Medical still have control of.
I will now ask the Care Inspectorate to investigate what is going on. However, they have limited powers and what is happening across the private residential care sector across the whole of the UK will only change with statutory powers being introduced.
To 'encourage' the politicians to act, the objective remains to present an electronic copy of the petition and the many comments, with 300,000 signatures, to all party leaders on or about 18th May (mid-point of the election campaign) demanding that they commit to dealing with the many issues which Bob's case raises.
For this pressure to count, 300,000 signatures are needed. Within hours, the petition will pass through the 267,000 mark. So still 33,000 signatures needed.
Team Bob are working flat out to achieve the target by promoting the petition across social media. Again, it is the case that any prominent feature in a major newspaper would suffice, but the press and media are still holding back - for which they must be brought to task.
Politicians, as well as the press/media are duty bound to stand up for the most vulnerable groups in our society and have failed miserably to-date. This must not be allowed to continue.
The petition to support the Charity CERT UK has sadly been taken down as they were forced to close on 28th April. Another support service set up to help those most in need has fallen victim to funding cuts and those most at risk find that another lifeline has been cut due to a lack of funds.
This story is being repeatedly across the country and is set to continue - unless people speak out.
For Bob, his initial support from the hospital social workers will come to an end in a couple of weeks. Therefore, a long-term plan needs to be implemented. Having a carer attend twice daily for just 2 hours each visit will cost a minimum of £1,250 pcm, so the current fund will see him through for a maximum of 20 months. We continue to promote the justgiving fund to put a 5 year plan in place.
Once again, Bob wishes to express his deep gratitude to the thousands who have supported him to-date and the many tens of thousands who continue to monitor updates to check on his progress.
