Lenient correction for class 10 CBSE board exam math
Lenient correction for class 10 CBSE board exam math
The Issue
I recently took the Class 10 CBSE board exam for the math standard paper, and, like many of my classmates, I found it incredibly lengthy and challenging. Particularly, Set 3 of the exam was daunting, and we all struggled to complete it within the allotted time. This isn’t just my experience; several students have expressed similar concerns about the difficulty level of this particular paper.
The Class 10 CBSE exams are significant in paving the academic path for students. However, an unusually tough paper with limited time for completion can unfairly impact scores, causing undue stress and potentially affecting future educational opportunities. The task of writing these exams is already stressful, and when the paper is unexpectedly difficult, it’s the students who pay the price.
In light of these concerns, we are calling for a lenient evaluation process for the Class 10 CBSE board exams, specifically regarding the math standard paper. This approach would offer a fair re-evaluation of the students' efforts and abilities, acknowledging the extraordinary difficulty of the paper this year. It's important that students are assessed based on understanding and knowledge rather than speed in dealing with excessively long papers.
We urge the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to consider this appeal and take immediate action to modify the correction process. By implementing lenient grading, educators will better reflect the students’ actual understanding and competencies, providing a balanced consideration of the challenges faced by students.
Please sign this petition to ensure fair assessment practices are implemented for the Class 10 CBSE math standard paper, helping students achieve the grades they rightfully deserve.
