PLEASE HELP SAVE GREEN SPACE! Say NO to the housing developments planned in Thurcaston. Leicester City Council are planning to build 611 houses across the green area, which will destroy the environment and wildlife, as well as resulting in closure of Park View Riding School. The homes of these horses can not be taken away along with the safe hacking land we currently have. Not only this but people’s livelihoods will be destroyed, the jobs of those at Park View will be taken from them, and the distress the horses will have on the upheaval of moving of which they have no choice over. The proposed sites will in fact be located on grade 3 agricultural land, this should be kept at it’s natural beauty and characteristics. This change will hugely affect the area negatively. The village it’s self does not have adequate facilities so will therefore impact on village safety.
