Retain the Museum at Mountain Home Veterans Affairs Medical Center, TN

I am asking for your help to stop the dismantling of the Museum at the James H. Quillen (Mountain Home) Veterans Affairs Medical Center. This action was taken unbeknownst to the general population, employees, and specifically donors of many of the items. At this point it is unknown where the items are being stored.
Many of those items were donated with the understanding that they would be safe and remain at Mountain Home.
We have already lost the cannon that used to stand in front of the building that houses The Museum and we are heart-sick at the pending loss of the artifacts that were contained inside The Museum.
This is a loss, not only to the local facility but to Johnson City, Tennessee, and the surrounding area. It is the non-measurable community spirit that made Mountain Home a great place to work and a place where Veterans choose to receive their care. The uniqueness of Mountain Home and its growth is fascinating. History must be (and was beautifully) preserved in the Museum. Our heritage makes us proud. The Veteran, Employee, and Community stakeholders are speaking about the demise of the Museum. I hope the decision-makers are listening. They used to...
We beg you to please help preserve our heritage and keep it in its rightful place on the grounds of the James H. Quillen (Mountain Home) VA Medical Center.
