Plastic pollution

Our world produces enough plastic to build 50 pyramids of Giza. Most of it ends up in landfills but over 8 million tons end up in oceans each year. Which is 10x more plastic than there are stars in the milky way galaxies. It would weigh 80,000 tons = 3 statues of liberties & would weigh more than 43,000 cars. Unused nets tangling and endangering animals such as turtles, fish, and damaging coral reefs. All of the garbage is scattered over the ocean that is 2x the size of Texas or 3x the size of France. Often animals look at plastic and think of  it as food and eat it which is really harmful for their body because of the bacteria in the plastic that cause the animals to become ill and die. Bioaccumulation is in the action that this point, this is because the micro bits from plastic go into a fish when they eat it, then a bigger fish eat the smaller fish consuming the micro plastic that was already in the smaller fish, next us humans eat that fish that consumes micro plastic which can harm us in many ways. Worldwide researchers have found ingested micro plastics in every species of sea turtle, 60% of whale species and 60% of seabirds. Experts estimate that by 2050 the amount of plastic in the ocean will outweigh all the world's fish.
