I've experienced firsthand the benefits of raw milk. My daughter, who has difficulty digesting regular dairy products, has no issues when consuming raw milk. The beneficial components of raw milk not only support my daughter's health, they can also provide a healthier alternative for thousands of Ohio citizens struggling with similar issues.

However, in Ohio, as it currently stands, the sale of raw milk in retail stores is illegal. I believe it's time for this constraint to change. There is growing evidence that raw milk can offer a range of nutritional benefits. A study in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology found that children who consumed raw milk were 41 percent less likely to develop asthma and about 50 percent less likely to develop hay fever, compared to those who did not drink raw milk (Brasche and Bischof, 2007).

Moreover, this movement is about more than just health; it's about freedom of choice. Citizens should have the right to choose what kind of milk they prefer to consume and feed their families.

Despite the controversy surrounding raw milk and its consumption, other states such as Pennsylvania and Idaho have been able to successfully implement regulations that protect consumers while still allowing the sale of raw milk.

It is with this plea and conviction we call upon Ohio state legislature to reconsider the current laws and legalize the sale of raw milk, ensuring it is available in retail stores statewide.
