I am a resident of Florida and believe strongly in the freedom to choose what we consume. This belief is personal to me and many others who wish to have access to raw milk for human consumption, a choice that is currently denied in our state. Unlike us, there are 13 states like California, Idaho and New Mexico that are allowed legal in store purchase and 20 other states that allow farm to consumer sale, as they can legally purchase raw milk.

Raw milk has been consumed by humans for centuries and is appreciated by many for its taste and nutritional value. It's important to note that while there are concerns about potential health risks associated with consuming raw milk, these risks can be mitigated through proper handling and storage practices.

In fact, according to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), while there is a higher risk of foodborne illness from consuming raw milk compared to pasteurized milk, this risk remains relatively low overall. Furthermore, it should be noted that other foods such as eggs or seafood also carry similar risks but are not banned from sale.

By legalizing the sale of raw milk in Florida, we would not only be supporting consumer choice but also potentially boosting local economies through support of small-scale dairy farmers who could benefit from selling their product directly.

It's time we join other states in allowing our citizens the freedom to choose what they want to consume. Please sign this petition if you believe Floridians should have access to raw milk for human consumption.
