Legalize the Sale of Ice Cream from Trucks in Parks to come as go as they please

The Issue

For my family, selling ice cream is not just a small business but a way of life. We've been serving the local community through our ice cream business for years. Due to my husband's health conditions, he isn't able to walk much. This limitation affects us as our local authority only allows ice cream sales in parks from push carts. Unless you pay 30 dollars a day, then you have to park there during the time they tell you to. Push carts can come and go as they please, and we think it should be the same for trucks.

We, and many others, believe this law is outdated. Ice cream trucks have the potential to make everyone's park visit enjoyable, especially for families with small children. According to the National Ice Cream Retailers Association, ice cream trucks have proven to be a successful business model with substantial annual sales across the country. They are a part of American culture, bringing joy to neighborhoods while remaining a viable business model (source: National Ice Cream Retailers Association).

By addressing this law, we are not only aiding our personal situation, we are also responding to a broader issue by enabling other local businesses to flourish and contribute to the local economy. By changing this regulation, our parks can promote inclusivity for all types of business models, ensuring everyone has a fair opportunity.

Your support is not just for us but for all those who believe in supporting local businesses. Stand with us in appealing for the legalization of the sale of ice cream from trucks in parks. Please sign our petition. Show that you believe in an inclusive and fair system for all. Your signature can make a real difference.
