I'm a Texan who firmly believes in the benefits of marijuana as a stress-reliever, and I'm calling on you all to support the change I, along with many others, advocate for. Marijuana has been proven to offer therapeutic effects to users and can be a safe, alternative solution to pharmaceuticals. As an adult, I feel it should be my right to choose to use marijuana for relaxation and stress relief.

Across the U.S., there's a growing movement with 18 states, including neighboring New Mexico, having already legalized recreational marijuana. These states have not only provided their citizens with a better quality of life but have also seen an economic boom from the sales tax revenues.

If Texas were to follow in their footsteps, the tax revenue income from marijuana sales could be used to further improve public services and infrastructure. This isn't just about personal freedom – it's a potential step towards a better-funded, healthier Texas.

Given that marijuana usage rates are comparable with states where it's already legal, it's clear that prohibition isn't preventing its use, but merely preventing Texas from benefiting from it.
