Lane Splitting, also called filtering, is the process of a motorcycle moving along a road’s dotted white lines to bypass congestion due to traffic moving too slowly. Allowing motorcyclists to move to the front at intersections also reduces commute times, traffic congestion, and lowers the risk of bikers being rear ended by distracted drivers. Additionally, the ability for bikers to move more often will prevent bikers from suffering in the heat while stopped.
