With the pending threat of SB72, restarting the medical cannabis licensing process essentially restarts the litigation that is preventing access to patients with a qualifying condition. 

The Compassion Act has proven to be not-so-compassionate. It is high time we begin to collect the much-needed data to assess the weeds of the people. 

The medical cannabis program will require a legislative fix, per legislators. The only legislative fix that will not cost the State of Alabama millions of taxpayer dollars is to open the market so that Alabama cultivators, processors, dispensary operators, and integrated facilities can provide safe, quality cannabis.   

The prohibition of cannabis in Alabama doesn't help anyone. Instead, it forces honest, law-abiding citizens to uproot their lives and relocate for access to a plant that is gaining acceptance across the country. We can't let that continue. It's time Alabama caught up with the rest of the nation by allowing for the consumption, possession, and sale of quality cannabis. Support the legalization of high-quality cannabis in our state.
