Legalize Cannabis to End Unjust Incarceration

The Issue

This petition is deeply personal. My friends, neighbors, and siblings have been unjustly incarcerated for non-offensive cannabis use. It's heartbreaking to see the lives of people I care about being disrupted due to a law that many believe is outdated and unjust.

Cannabis legalization has been a topic of heated debate for years. However, it's important to note that the majority of Rwandans now support its legalization. Despite this public opinion shift, countless individuals continue to face criminal charges for non-violent cannabis-related offenses.

The war on drugs has disproportionately affected communities This racial disparity in marijuana arrests is but one example of how our current laws are not only outdated but also discriminatory.

Legalizing cannabis would not only align with public sentiment but could also significantly reduce the number of non-violent offenders in our already overburdened prison system. It's time we reconsider our stance on cannabis and work towards creating laws that are just and fair.

Join me in calling on lawmakers to legalize cannabis and end this cycle of unjust incarceration. Please sign this petition today!
