Legalize Cannabis in Wisconsin for Economic and Social Benefit

Legalize Cannabis in Wisconsin for Economic and Social Benefit
The Issue
For over a decade, Mary Freeman has been passionately advocating for the legalization of Cannabis in Wisconsin. The numerous medical, psychological, spiritual, economic, and social benefits of this plant should be legally available to everyone.
The prohibition of Cannabis has not only failed to curb its use but has also led to significant social injustices. A report by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) found that despite roughly equal usage rates, Blacks are 3.73 times more likely than whites to be arrested for marijuana.
Moreover, the potential economic growth from a legalized Cannabis industry is immense. According to New Frontier Data's U.S Cannabis Report 2019 Industry Outlook, legalizing this plant nationwide could generate at least $132 billion in tax revenue and more than a million new jobs across the United States within the next decade.
It's time we coordinate these future opportunities to benefit our communities and families who have been disproportionately wronged by its current criminalization.
Let us transform our approach from one that fosters injustice into one that promotes growth and healing. We urge lawmakers in Wisconsin to take action towards legalizing Cannabis now! Please sign and share this petition if you believe it's time for change.
