Why this petition matters

Started by Eric Hensley

It is perfectly legal to posses the most deadly mushrooms on the planet in Indiana yet you face criminal prosecution if caught with any of the dozen species of psychoactive mushrooms that grow here in the state. This means any kid picking mushrooms in a park could potentially be breaking the law as Panaeolus cinctulus and Panaeolus fimicola are quite common in grass and gymnopilus species are very common on all types of decaying wood including mulch. All these mushrooms and more are considered illegal under current Indiana law as they all contain psilocybin.  Psilocybin is known to break addictions and was the original inspiration for Alcoholics Anonymous though was not ever used in the program lsd was and had a 90% success rate until it to was made illegal.
