This is an appeal from the heart. I am adamant that women should be able to make choices regarding their own bodies, including whether or not to have an abortion. Women are frequently denied this privilege by current rules in our country, which makes it a personal freedom issue in addition to a healthcare issue. We are endangering women's lives and placing them in dangerous situations by outlawing abortion. The World Health Organization estimates that unsafe abortions are responsible for 4.7% to 13.2% of maternal fatalities annually. The time has come to address this very personal matter.
