The issue

My personal journey in starting a family has not been easy. Like many others, I sought assistance from IVF, only to find that gender selection is not currently allowed in Australia. This forced me to travel overseas to receive the medical treatment I needed. It's a struggle - emotionally, physically, and financially - that no one should have to endure.

Current laws in Australia are restricting our options and access to medical care - in this case, the choice of gender selection in IVF procedures. Yet, other countries, including the United States, allow the use of this technique, recognising it as a person's right to reproductive choice.

We ask that the Australian government amend their laws to legalise gender selection in IVF procedures. Doing so would align Australia with global best practices and provide much-needed aid to families struggling so much. Let's ensure every individual or couple has the optimal chance to achieve their dreams of parenthood.

Please, stand with us and sign this petition. Together, we can bring about much-needed change for future generations.
