Legalise bunnies in QLD so Bad Bunny can perform in Brisbane on his next world tour
The Issue
As you may be aware, rabbits are banned as pets in Queensland (QLD) under the Biosecurity Act 2014, where they are classified as a restricted invasive animal due to severe agricultural and environmental threats.
This is of serious concern as it restricted Puerto Rican singer, rapper and producer, Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, also known as Bad Bunny, from being able to perform in QLD on his premier debut in Australia during his Debi Tirar Mas Fotos (DtMF) world tour.
Bad Bunny is one of the world’s most streamed artists and is known for breaking global streaming records, blending Latin trap with reggaeton, and other diverse sounds, highlighting the beautiful culture of Puerto Rico.
His OG fans know him as “Trap Bunny” whilst newer fans may recognise his recent success at the Grammys where he won the first ever all Spanish album of the year. He has also gained some new fans following his Super Bowl halftime appearance in February where he not only put on a jaw dropping performance, but provided a message on unity and love, resonating with people all over the world.
Just this past weekend, following his recent spotlight success, Bad Bunny brought the heat during two sold out shows at Engie Stadium in Sydney Australia where he perreo’d la casita abajo on both evenings.
Both nights were nothing shy of perfecto, and Aussies showed up and showed out, flying in from all over Australia and the world to show their support to Benito, confirming that regardless of language barriers, music, rhythm and tra tra is universal.
Following Bad Bunny’s first successful trip down under, there is no doubt that his next trip to the great southern land will be packed with even more jangueo, so it’s crucial that we put QLD on the map.
Whilst many Queenslanders have no issue travelling to another state for a show, it’s important that we provide more Queenslanders the opportunity to experience the joy of Bad Bunny in their own backyard and provide Benito the opportunity to well and truly expand his global footprint whilst basking in the warm rays of the sunshine state and enjoying our beautiful playas.
As QLD is the only state with a ban on bunnies, this creates an unfair advantage not just for the majority of Queenslanders, but for the conejo malo himself.
It’s time to take action and petition to remove the ban on bunnies in QLD! Please sign this petition and share it forward so we can work together to bring Bad Bunny to QLD on his next tour.
