My cat Arlo was involved in a road accident on the bypass next to Byker late hours on the 20/12/22 

as any pet lover will know he was part of the family , he was my sons Christmas present 2 years ago we all miss him deeply and the heartache of how his life ended Is just traumatising for us all 

I want to make this petition to try and get as many people to sign it , as I just don’t think it’s fair how under section 170 of the traffic road Act 1988 it is not a legal requirement to stop for a cat 

these animals are peoples pets and there like family to them , some people may not get the closure they need for there passing cat 

i think it needs to become part of the legal act to stop and inform someone if you are in a road side accident with a cat 

luckily there is a charity out there “Gizmos legacy” who fortunately found my fur baby and brought him home to me .

there must be something that can be done about this
