The volume of traffic and speed of vehicles travelling through Hawksworth Village has reached terrifying proportions. As well as almost daily 'minor incidents' - two serious car accidents have occurred recently (Sept/Oct 2020), both close to school drop-off and pick-up times, resulting in damage to parked/stationary vehicles and sadly, injury.      

The measures currently in place to reduce the speed of traffic (20 mph limit) are insufficient at best, are ignored by the vast majority of drivers and seem to have little to no effect. 

Changes to the current traffic calming measures need to be made to ensure child/parent safety, especially during school hours. 

Upon completion, this petition and other supporting information will be sent to Leeds City Council for further investigation.
