Please review Covid-19 exit strategy to protect our kids/vulnerable before it's too late.

The Issue

Dear Authorities

I understand the rationale behind our 'Covid Resilience' strategy. The virus most probably is going stay with us for a long time and in order to regain our livelihood, we need to reopen the economy. I totally agree with that but more as a long-term plan/target and we should never rush to get there. Otherwise, the consequences will be dire.

The current Covid exit strategy is essentially built on our 'high' rate of vaccination against Covid-19. But what about individuals who are ineligible for vaccination. For example, our kids who are below 12. Current 'limited' data may suggest that there is low risk of developing severe illness for infected kids. However, given the recent exponential rise in new cases, the picture may look very different when the 'Law of large numbers' kicks in. I am sure we do not want our kids or other vulnerable groups to be part of the new statistics.

Hence, I urge you to review the current Covid exit strategy to protect our kids and other vulnerable groups. Let's take a step back and not rush things. No doubt we need to regain our livelihood but we do not have to leave anyone behind. We are all in this together and we should win this war together.
