Stop the noise at Brick Pavers Express

Stop the noise at Brick Pavers Express
We, the citizens of WildBlue, Vista WildBlue, Corkscrew Shores, and other communities surrounding the Alico Road corridor in unincorporated Lee County, Florida, petition the five-member Board of County Commissioners in Lee County to act expeditiously to eliminate or substantially lessen the unrelenting, offensive, agitating noise emanating from Brick Pavers Express, which:
- diminishes our quality of life
- negatively impacts our physical and mental health
- disrupts our peace of mind
- likely disrupts the rhythms of precious wildlife within our community
Since the beginning of 2021 this year, there has been no escape from the horrendous noise, which affects hundreds of us roughly every ten seconds from 7 a.m. through 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Some residents have nicknamed it “the death ray”; others call it “war of the worlds.” As an example of the intensity, on December 3, 2021, the noise level just outside of the Brick Pavers Express building was measured at 114 dB, which clearly exceeds reasonable noise standards.
Efforts have been made to work with the company to remedy the noise problem, with no success. In July and August, 2021 respectively, there was a direct conversation with a Brick Pavers Express management employee, as well as a formal communication with the parent company, yet the noise continues to exasperate us.
The situation is beyond unacceptable; it has become something close to unlivable. We firmly believe that it will negatively impact the long-term value of our real estate investments, which will subsequently reduce the Lee County real estate tax base – a truly lose-lose situation.
We urge the Board to take IMMEDIATE action, by any means at your disposal.
Thank you for your attention and prompt response to this urgent matter.
