Halal is an Arabic word for lawful or permitted mandated by the One and Only CREATOR in the Noble Qur'an.

In reference to food, it is the dietary standard for those people who completely submits to the will of GOD (Muslims) prescribed / ordered in the Noble Qur'an.

In layman's term Halal food are those that are:

1. Free from any component that Muslims are prohibited from consuming according to Islamic law.

2. Processed, made, produced, manufactured and/or stored using utensils, equipment and/or machinery that have been cleansed according to Islamic law.

But please note that the term "HALAL" doesn't end here, it has a comprehensive and strict rulings to be considered. Strict Islamic Rulings MUST be done by Respected and Renowned Islamic Scholars (Doctors Of Islamic Shari'a) to outline general standards for Muslim Leaders (Imams) and their subordinates to implement and follow, NO NON-Muslim Individuals and Institutions should be allowed and permitted to assume this Role and making this sacred practice a profitable business for their own greedy benefit.

Muslim and NON-Muslim individuals / businesses & organizations needs to educate themselves about this Noble "HALAL" religious practice of the Muslims to make sure the GREEDY institutions like DTI - Government Of The Philippines will not take advantage of our ignorance and ensue us a bogus secular "New HALAL Standard Scheme" that made a mandate of Halal certification a profitable business practice instead of a Noble Religious and Sacred one.

We have to note that The Government of the Philippines is NOT a competent institution to make the accreditation standards on "Halal" certification, because they DO NOT specialize this subject in their realm of expertise. They are the ones NOT Legitimate in doing this mandate and rulings.

This is a huge insult to our religion Islam and a humiliation to our Muslim Scholars  as well as to the Muslim People of The Philippines in general who are being overpowered by these ignorant GODless Institutions like DTI - Government of The Philippines.
