Give Isabelle Boudreau appropriate disciplinary action for her racist actions.
A softball team member here at Le Moyne College in Syracuse, New York, Isabelle Boudreau, dressed up in a racist, disrespectful, and culturally insensitive Halloween costume. On Friday, October 29th 2021, she put on an orange jumpsuit, wrote “illegal immigrant” on the front of the shirt and put shackles on her wrists. She not only wore this costume out thinking it was okay, she posted it to the school’s official Le Moyne Softball Instagram page. On Thursday, December 2nd 2021, she gave a public apology. This apology was clearly scripted, and she showed no guilt for her actions. She is not sorry she did it, she is sorry she got all this backlash for doing it. After the very fake apology was given, it was announced that she would receive absolutely NO disciplinary action for what she did. This very clearly shows that Le Moyne College only cares about the sports that give them funding, because rather than suspend Isabelle from the softball team indefinitely, she remains on the team with absolutely no punishments for her actions whatsoever. We students want to see her punished for this. We have watched Le Moyne try to hide suicides, sexual assaults, and racist actions from students in the past to make the college look better, and we are not going to continue to put up with it anymore.
