Sodomy is not considered rape under Maryland State law. Only vaginal penetration,non-consensual, is considered rape. Sodomy is a lesser offense as it is considered Sexual Assault. Children, both male and female are being sodomized and their attacker (s) can not be held to a rape conviction. Therefore, males cannot be legally raped in Maryland.

Rape should be considered any form of sexual assault on a victim without their consent - especially a minor. This would give many communities closure as the person who committed the crime would be legally referred to as a rapist - which is exactly what they are. Our friends, family and children have suffered enough and it's time for change.
