LMA Condemns the denigration of the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
The General Islamic Assembly of Australia (GIA), the Lebanese Imams league and the Lebanese Muslim Association (LMA) Strongly condemn the denigration of the Prophet of Mercy, Prophet Muhammad, by malicious and injudicious individuals.
Such insults provoke the feelings of billions of Muslims worldwide and should prompt the officials and intellectuals in France to put an end to such acts of desecration and sacrilege.
The justification of such shameless acts by the French President under the guise of Freedom of expression is a violation of the basic human rights of the Muslim minority in France and two billion Muslims worldwide, whose dignity and safety must be guaranteed.
The General Islamic Assembly, the Lebanese Imams and the LMA are concerned that the endorsement of the French president of such aggression, against Islam and Muslims, would not only alienate and ostracise the Muslims minority, in France but further encourage Islamophobia and hate crimes against Muslim women and children, as it has become evident.
Whilst the General Islamic Assembly, the Lebanese Imams and LMA do not condone any acts of violence committed, in the name of any faith or ideology, they denounce the provocations that offend the sanctity of Islam and all other religions.
We call upon all parties involved to stop fuelling feelings of resentment, to show discretion and to promote the spirit of mutual respect, as they are prerequisites for coexistence, peace and constructive dialogue between all religions and nations.
The legacy of Prophet Muhammad will continue to be the beacon of Justice and truth, faith and mercy to the entire world as long as humanity exists. The love of billions of Muslims to the Prophet of Mercy will forever thrive and shine. It will regenerate their commitment to his call to establish the noblest of ethics and to guide humanity to its eternal bliss.
